By Andy Chalk T Comments Shares Valve has rolled out a new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive matchmaking system that expands on the Prime Matchmaking system it launched last year. Called Trust, the new system takes a more holistic approach to connecting players than Prime by taking into account a much wider range of factors, including some drawn from outside of CS: Prime Matchmaking requires that players link their accounts to their mobile devices and have a minimum CS: GO rank of 21, to help ensure a reasonably consistent level of skill and commitment between connected players. But that “created a hard boundary in the CS: GO community, and players who might otherwise be perfectly happy playing together were separated,” Valve said in a blog post. Enter the optimistically-named Trust system.

Each matchmaking request specifies the type of match to build team configuration, rules for an acceptable match, etc. The request also specifies the players to find a match for and where to host the new game session for optimal performance. A matchmaking request might start with a single player or a group of players who want to play together.

Collapse Last week marked the release of a major update for Team Fortress 2 , the nine-year-old-and-still-going-strong FPS. A number of complaints have cropped up, however, and now Valve is taking steps to address the feedback. The launch was far from smooth for Casual mode–it could take incredibly long to get into matches, and some of the design decisions around it were perplexing.

Operation Hydra was the eighth CS: GO operation and was released on May 23rd and came with 6 new maps plus new game types like Wingman. However, the November 13th update of the game has brought the operation to an end. The definition for the trust factor system on the CS: GO blog is as follows: So what if the Prime system was re-imagined using a wider range of factors?
We started with that question, and have been experimenting with matching players using observed behaviors and attributes of their Steam account, including the overall amount of time they had spent playing CS: GO, how frequently they were reported for cheating, time spent playing other games on their Steam account, etc. The results of the experiment have been positive. In matches created using Trust Factor, most players ended up generating fewer reports regardless of their Prime status.
We wanted to keep the best parts of Prime and ditch the parts that cause problems in the CS: Starting today, players will, by default, enter matchmaking using their Trust Factor rather than their Prime status and in the short term, players with Prime status can still choose to match using the old system. The update also made changes to the maps available in the Classic Competitive mode.
GO have four levels. When an account receives a competitive cooldown, the cooldown level remains on the destiny matchmaking down for a one-week probationary period. Any additional cooldowns received during the one-week probationary period increases the amount of time players are restricted from matchmaking:. A week of clean play will reduce an account’s cooldown level by one. An account whose cooldown level has been reduced to level cs go competitive matchmaking down through clean play would receive a level 3 24 hour cooldown on their next infraction.
Additionally, because they are constantly updating the Trust Factor matchmaking system, any list of factors would become out of date very quickly. That being said, in general they are looking at your past experience in CS:GO and on Steam, to ensure the system is as accurate as possible.
